What meant to be an awesome birthday gift was ruined by Skydive Jersey. I arrived to my jump at 3pm, right on time. Staff seemed disorganized, my paper work was missing and I was told there's a delay. While I was filling out all the necessary forms I asked when I will be jumping and was told that "it's all a piece of string at the moment". No one could tell my why there was a delay other than it happened during their first jump of the day. I was told I should be on the plane around 6pm and to stick around. At 6:10 I received a phone call telling me that my jump is now canceled due to rising tide and to come to the van and re-book it. In the van I was told the company will call me to rearrange.
I was annoyed. Having spent more than 3h, waiting for the jump it was canceled due to rising tides. How a company which organize jumps in Jersey with beach landing is not capable of checking tide times? Knowing there's a delay first thing in the morning, why haven't they reorganized their schedule and cancel the jump even before I showed up? They really do know how to cancel because they've already done it 4 times before so why was it not done again before I showed up?
To add salt to injury, the next day I received an email thanking me for the jump that never happened. That's right, they couldn't even mark my jump as canceled preventing me from re-booking it myself. All my credit gone. I wrote the owner an email expressing my frustration - no replay for over a week. Tried calling - all calls ignored. I thought I was scammed, it certainly felt like it.
After waiting for over a week, I received an email from owner, not with apology for the sh*t show they provided for over £300 but with a short message stating that "they can't provide the level of service that I demand". Really? I JUST WANTED TO JUMP! that's it! It's apparently what you're specializing in! - via
