Ultimately a very disappointing stay in what is often described as the best all inclusive in Cancun.
We were looking forward to our stay in Le Blanc for a long time. The rave reviews and status as the number 1 hotel on Trip Advisor for years lined this up as the ultimate hotel to stay in. Ultimately we stayed in another hotel Palace hotel for the 1st week of our trip with Le Blanc for the second week.
We expected Le Blanc to be a significant step up from the other palace hotels, it is priced at twice the cost after all. To be fair, it is a step up bit nowhere near twice as good. Breakfast and lunch buffets were actually of a worse standard than both Sun and Playacar Palace. Dinners were somewhat better but ended up having disappointing food on 3 of the nights that week. Worst being the Asian restaurant where yo good was served stone cold and had to be sent.
The included wines were also disappointing. Identical to the wines served in the supposedly lower standard Palace hotels.
What exactly is it that makes Le Blanc so special? Unfortunately, we never found out. Aside form some amazingly friendly staff members there is nothing else that special.
The real icing on the cake is that we were charged twice for our final bill on checkout. Upon raising the issue since returning home we were initially met with some assistance from the head concierge. However, my emails now go unanswered and I will need to go down the route of opening a dispute with my credit card company. Not the service level expected from the supposed best 5 star all inclusive hotel in Cancun - via
