Visited and purchased gear here before, and have always found the shop very well kept, with a great selection, reasonable prices, and a staff that was friendly, knowledgeable, courteous, and helpful. I'd highly recommend them if you have a need for any kind of dive equipment.
I hadn't yet had the chance to do any training or trips with them until this past March, but couldn't resist any longer when I saw the level of detail that went into a Philippines trip they recently offered.
Just as the trip was about begin, however, covid began its rise out in that region of the world. Rachel and Rich from the shop had everything covered though, and did a fantastic job of keeping everyone in the loop as the news developed. Everything was all so extremely well coordinated that even some last minute changes in travel plans for some of us to avoid hot spots didn't knock anything off track.
I was the most thoroughly impressed with the effort Rachel, the manager of the shop, put in to make sure everyone on the trip was well taken care of... From jumping headfirst into equipment issues and quickly fixing them on the spot to checking in with everyone several times every day - whether it was the daily dive schedule, special add-on dives, eating, or traveling to or from anywhere, she was on top of it. I still don't know where she found the energy to do everything she did, the will to make the sacrifices she made along the way, or the mental acuity to keep track of everyone and juggle as many details as she did to make the trip such a success.
It ended up being one of the best dive trips I've ever been a part of... Everyone on the trip had traveled with them before and now I know why... I had only had ever met Rachel and Rich before from the shop, but by the end of the trip it felt like I knew everyone (and it was no small group) - Rachel and Rich made sure of it. The entire group was warm, friendly, and welcoming - which spoke volumes to me about how this place treats their customers and keeps them coming back for more. These folks don't just know diving, but how to do dive travel just right too, which is a challenge I've seen many shops fall short on in my years of diving.
I'll certainly be looking forward to doing more diving with these folks when some semblance of normalcy returns with the covid crisis. - via
