5.0.0

We got in a fast twin engine plane with an open door. I was lucky enough to sit right by that open door, so I had only air between us and the ground. We took off and we watched the ground quickly drop away from us. The flight up was exciting, nay, thrilling. Am I shivering because of the cold, or because of what we're about to do? Holding the same angle the plane took us to well over 3 miles high. I looked over at my daughter and couldn't believe what we were doing. My instructor tapped me on the shoulder and said "let's go!" and we scooted to the exit. Disbelief of the situation I was in rolled over me just as we dropped out the door. For 90 seconds we were blasted with 120 mph wind as we free fell back to the earth. The air started to get warmer, and then WOW the parachute opens, we're pulled upwards, and things got peaceful as we floated down. What an awesome view to experience as you float down to the airport. Through the whole process the tandem jump instructor was checking in on me to make sure I was comfortable and doing well, and he was just a cool guy who somehow conveys a comforting sense of comradery. Side note: I won't ride the high swings at Six Flags and my palms get sweaty from the memory of this jump. 10/10 would do it again. - via google
