The place has a lot of potencial not well managed by Laurence , the owner . She’s always grumpy and the atmosphere is not nice because the staff always complaining about her ... a lot of gossip about their relationship that you don’t really want to be part of or hear when to travel ... but she argues with most the customers , really uncomfortable to spend your holidays there .
Diving with her was also not professional, the whole way to the diving spot she was arguing with the captain , I felt so stressed that I could not enjoy the diving .
To relax after this terrible day , I decided to stay on the island in front of Anakao for a couple of hours , previously I arranged with Laurence to send a boat to pick me up at the right time , before the hide were high ( certainly double price than the local people , but I wanted to be sure that they will come for me on time ) .
She NEVER sent the boat ( even though I called her when 1 hour in advance to remind her about the time ) , the high tide & a big storm arrived , no boats on the island as it is inhabited, I had no way to come back or to stay on this desert island , I was completely desperate begging her to send the boat , but she did not pick up the phone anymore .
After a while , I’ve found a local guy that was sat like waiting there but he could not speak English or french , but he made me signs like someone would arrive by the sea ...... one hour later when was almost dark , I saw a pirogue struggling with the waves trying to pick up the one that was on the island with me .... this struggle lasted like 30’ , the sea was very rough .... Finally he reached the coast and they offered to take me to Anakao . The pirogue was a very tiny & fragile one just for 2 persons and we were 3 , but I had no choice so I went up .
The trip that usually takes 30’ lasted infinite 90’ .... we spent the whole time taking out the water out of the pirogue like machines , in the middle of the storm, the wind and big waves on a extremely rough sea . Sooooo difficult moments ....I still don’t know how we survived , we were like middle sunken the whole trip , it was the most scaring & endless time experience I ever had in my life . We did not die by chance , it was extremely dangerous .
When I was on mainland again , they told me that when you sink on this area you are dragged for miles up to Tulear , no chance to survive .
I won’t ever forget what I had to live due to the irresponsibility of Laurence , who of course said that she had no signal to take my call and that she found no boat .
She put my life on danger , she’s not reliable at all , I still cannot believe what she did to me - via
