We booked a day on board a dive boat because I wanted my girlfriend to experience scuba. We were well looked after, the kit all worked, and the instructor was competent. The dives were ok for a beginner.
I feel that paying $300 for this was too expensive. And hence my lower rating.
I felt severely embarrassed when we were asked to pay tips at the end of the day. Where I come from, $300 will pay for 2 weeks in a hotel and most people earn about $200 a month. So to be asked for even more money put me in a very embarrassing position. The people were good, the service was ok. But we can't afford to throw more money away. We're not rich. - via
