After visiting several diving schools in the surrounding area, we decided on a day of diving at Kon-Tiki. We booked a 3 day dive with equipment directly on site.
Prices on Ko Lanta are generally slightly higher. However, the diving schools don't care much about each other.
We ultimately chose Kon-Tiki because of what we thought was the best customer service (fluent English and motivated employees) and the opportunity that I was able to look at the equipment.
On the day of the dive we were picked up promptly from the hotel nearby and taken to the pier by boat. The diving school's ship is immaculate, quite large and even offers a shower facility.
During the journey to the spot, all participants were instructed and assigned to their respective guides. Before each dive there was a briefing from the guide to discuss the dive.
The dives were carried out professionally. We were lucky and saw several sharks and a turtle.
As a special bonus, I would like to mention that my colleagues at the diving school gave me excellent support with my underwater marriage proposal. Everything worked out wonderfully and I would like to take this opportunity to say thank you again. -via
