After about one hundred dives I’m sad to have had my first bad experience with a dive Center.
Firstly they made me spend €55,00 doing a dive I didn’t want to do just so the guide could be “comfortable” and know me in the water (like all the diving courses I made so far, certifications and logged dives aren’t worth anything). What was impressive is that after that dive they still wanted me to do a second dive I didn’t want to do.
After I told Martin, the dive guide, my opinion, he was reasonable and we went back to the shop, he is actually a nice person, although he doesn’t have voice since Franca, the boss, treated me in such impolite way to that it was hard to believe that this was really happening.
She got super angry for the fact that I did only one dive (and I had at least 4 more dives booked with them for the next days), she said because I was the only one it was not worth it and she lost money taking me to that dive (like I have any responsibilities for their schedule planning or it was my fault they didn’t have any other clients).
Then she wanted me to pay for the single dive straight away because their clients pay all dives in advance (first time I hear that from a dive shop).
They don’t have a credit card machine. Instead they will ask you to pay from a webpage. From your phone navigator you need to put your info and card details in a website, and during payment, for my surprise, my bank blocked the transaction for safety measures giving me no other options to pay apart from cash. When I told them it was not working and I was about to go to the ATM next doors to get cash, Franca told me she can be very fast if needed.
The equipment was also not in good shape, my bcd was leaking air and thins were tied up with an elastic band. Later on I heard that Franca is famous for her personality and I was not the first with a really bad experience there. I went to three different dive centers that were in the same area and only had great experiences, I recommend Corsair Diving, Dive Deep Blue or Buddies Dive Cove. - via
