I have spent 7 days aboard the Blue Horizon. It was an offshore reef tour with almost 20 dives.
I would like to rate the dives, the boat, the meals, the service, the cruise/ dive guides and the crew starting at the dive deck ending up with the chefs with 5.1 of 5 stars. This was just awesome and can’t be better. From my point of view it is almost impossible to create an atmosphere that is professional, unguided and guided by demand and familiar at the same time, but this is what I have found. I have seen several diving bases, for sure there were good ones and this is really one of the best.
The overall pricing is more than fair. I’d love to pay 100$ more for a simple reason. So trip price also gets 5.1 of 5 stars.
If you have any additional costs during the trip, please inform yourself how much you’ll have to pay. I would love to see a full pricing list online starting from rental equipment, Nitrox ending up with the paid drinks. It is fair and necessary to have additional costs, but this must be more transparent before booking! This is a 0 of 5 star rating that I don’t include in my overall sum.
Finally some words about the reef tour. This was surprisingly just okay. We had bad luck with the visibility and we expected more (big) fish at the beginning of the season. I won’t ever include this in my rating. The diving spots all had the chance for some unforgettable moments and for sure there were some impressive sceneries e.g. in the caverns. As you can only pick good spots and hope you are there at the right time, the reef tour also gets 5 of 5 stars as well. - via
