We took the hiking/kayaking tour with our three grandchildren, ages 9-15, who live in PR. We are 69 and 71 years old but in good shape, and our grandchildren frequently hike mountains with their parents. The sites through the caves and forests were ethereal and breathtaking. The hike is a bit challenging over rocks near the river and can be muddy on the steep forest trails, but if you are in good shape and have good shoes, it is not to be missed. Our water boots were perfect as we could hike and swim in them. Omar, our guide, was knowledgeable, informative, patient with the kids insistence on exploring a little further, and very attentive. When we asked about places to eat, he suggested La Familia Pizzeria, a small family restaurant about a mile east of the Batey office. We filled the kids up with pizza and spaghetti before our long drive back home. The entire experience was one of our best in Puerto Rico. - via
