Booked a “2 Tank, In Shore” dive for my son and I while on a quick vacation.
Asked to pay in advance for the two of us and a dive master to accompany my son due to the depth - No problem, paid with a credit card to hold our spot on the charter.
Received a call the day before asking if we could change from the 7 AM dive to the afternoon slot due to “mechanical” issues... no problem.
Show up 6 minutes early after driving an hour and receive a call while sitting in the parking lot unpacking our gear that the dive has been cancelled due to a “mechanical” issue.
I certainly understand that mechanical issues happen but why not communicate said issue to your client in advance of the actual charter time and save them the aggravation of packing and driving to you?
Finally (and the reason I have chose to provide this unfavorable review), consider returning your customer’s **entire payment** when the cancellation has nothing to do with them and was completely beyond their control! Keeping a 3% processing fee is complete and utter BS. Poor business practice! - via
