I have been diving with Aquanauts several years for both ocean and Cenote dives. William and Crescent, the owners, are the nicest, most friendly people and they have highly-qualified Dive Masters/Guides to provide you with a great diving experience. William is a native of the area and his knowledge of the best dive spots to fit your diving experience is unsurpassed.
William was my instructor for the PADI Cavern and Peak Bouyancy certifications. As a side note, he taught me a breathing method which has reduced my average RMV from 6.6 to 5.2. I even practice it out of the water when I am stressed and need to relax.
Located at a marina, Aquanauts is a small and well equipped shop. They provide both air and NITROX and have all of the rental equipment you may need for safe, enjoyable diving.
I just went on a shore-entry ocean night dive with them and saw three octopus, a big moay eel, and other fascinating sea-life...awesome experience.
By far my favorite dives with Aquanauts are in the Cenotes. The water is crystal clear and the environment is mystical with a mixture of dancing light rays, stalactites / stalagmites, haloclines, and other features you can't find anywhere else. You don't need Cavern Certification and good buoyancy control is very important. Again, William is a great instructor if you want to improve your skills.
My rating of Aquanauts is 5 Star, A+. I contact them 3-4 weeks in advance to organize my dive schedule. - via
