My wife and I had wonderful balloon ride. The gondola is rated for I think 12 people, but they would be cheek by jowl if that many people actually showed up.
The staff was very nice, and the pilot was astounding, guiding the balloon's course using nothing more than his intimate knowledge of the local air currents.
That said, the ride is pricey, and the last-ditch effort at the end of the ride to squeeze a few more bucks out of the passengers with a low-rent champagne toast and photo offering was kinda kitchzy. Given how expensive the ride is, they should just bite the bullet, raise the price another $100, and offer a nice picnic at the end of the flight. - via
