Desmond and his team run an absolutely amazing company in Timor. We got unlucky in our first few days of trying to see blue whales, and Desmond went out of his way to try to find them and provide us a great experience, even at night after we had returned to land. The rooms are very nice as well with cold air-conditioning, which is a welcome refuge after a day in the swampy weather. He also helped me get a SIM card as my phone didn't have service otherwise.
After finally finding a blue whale, I really liked his approach to engaging with the animal and have to think that it creates a better experience (hint- more time in the water) as compared to competitors on the island.
