A very unsafe company for diving – do not recommend
1.0.0

Not a safe diving company Positives. The location for diving itself was great. Menjangan Island coral reef is beautiful and I saw loads of fish, coral and a couple of turtles. Negatives: Registration was chaotic. There’s no focus on safety. I hadn’t been diving for 5 years. I explained this before I went. I was reassured they were a safe company. They do not get you you to do safety check of equipment. I am shocked that basic oxygen checks are not done. We were rushed to just get into the water. I did not get to check if my gas cylinder was turned on . I did not get to check the air connectors I did not get to check if my emergency air was working I only got to check my air was working because I insisted before I got in the water, and I had to ask them to wait I only got to check my bcd could inflate as I insisted in checking it before I got into the water. I did not get to check my releases I’m so glad I had my own mask and flippers. My fellow diver and I looked in disbelief and made sure we took a moment to check our gear. I’d like to make sure I my oxygen is working thanks before I get into the water. When I asked the dive master “Gustavo” to give a refresher of some of the hand signals to refresh my memory on the boat trip over, I asked his for the one for “no air ” he said “don’t worry, that one never happens”. I was told I could rent a camera to use myself when I was sending WhatsApp messages booking the trip. This was not the case. When I got there they said there was”miscommunication”. There wasn’t. Make sure you’re not paying big $$$ for photos I was not going to pay $25 or even $15 for someone else to take some pics and send me a link. I was quoted money to rent a camera to use myself (my camera battery wasn’t charging properly) but they in fact don’t have any! The dive master checked the air time during the dive (as he should) but that’s all he did. He took 344 photos! When he should have been keeping his eye on us. Imagine 344 photos. That’s an outrageous excessive amount of pictures when you’re meant to be checking on your divers safety and welfare. My fellow diver was the one helping me with my bcd and buoyancy. I confirmed twice before the trip that I was vegetarian. They said not a problem.. I was promised a vegetarian lunch. I was given chicken. When I said something the dive master brushed it off, told me it was fish. It wasn’t . When I said something again, he was eating his lunch, which was the vegetarian meal. He then offered to share some of it with me when he realise I knew he was eating it, but it was too late. He was already half eating it so if I was going to eat it then. The drinks were warm. Water and coke. Not kept in ice. On my second dive the other staff member set up my gear wrong. I had to point out that he put my oxygen indicator in the wrong spot. It wasn’t under the clip of the BCD. These are the types of mistakes that happen when they are rushed and just want you to get in the water. There were two of them and only four of us, diving, so there was no need to rush anyway When I went back into the water the dive master was yelling at me. I didn’t know why. Finally I realised why. The other staff member had put my other oxygen under my arm instead of over my shoulder. It was embarrassing and unnecessary to yell at me. They stamped my log book before the dove and sent the data via a text for me to fill in myself. I have since asked for the master divers certification number and have been met with silence. Concerning when you read previous reviews around certification. I’ve since noticed on Google they’ve said they are permanently “closed” so you can’t write a current review. The most recent reviews are not great. This company could be good with better care. All payments were cash, no credit card facilities, no receipt, no national park ticket, you were not taken to the main area that other dive companies go to. Odd. They are not associated with Padi at all. I am following up with what authority I report them to. Shocking company
