My mother just wasted €270 on the takeaway 3-persons Osechi-set (Japanese new-year meal).
- Sea bream was meh (no juiciness at all)
- Chicken pieces were dry
- Tarbot steaks were also dry
- Lobster pieces were dry and chewy. (If I was served this in a restaurant I would’ve send it back straight to the kitchen)
Some of the other small dishes looked old. All in all the whole thing felt like it was made weeks ago and frozen until the 30th/31st before being sold.
I know that in the store there’s nice and fresh sashimi, so I’d still give that a chance, but having paid €270 for this is an absolute joke. Could’ve had lunch for 3 at a Michelin restaurant with that kind of money. Very disappointed. - via
