While it’s very busy and crowded in the mornings, the dive operator itself was a decent experience and much better than the awful resort they are attached to. Good communication, management of expectations (they cancelled one of our dives because there weren’t enough people for the “fast boat” but made us aware of this possibility in advance, agreeing to refund us when it happened - though did try to blame the cancellation on us briefly to avoid refunding, quickly remedied so no harm done) and a positive service (various snacks and water on boat, they help you with gear). Only negative in the dives was one of our nitrox tanks was on the boat half empty and they couldn’t replace it, though again no harm done as my wife was okay to use it on the second, shallower dive as she rarely empties her tank anyway.
We thought the dive masters knew their stuff and were eco-conscious in their briefings. We saw some very nice dive sites and a lot of big lobsters, turtles and rays including some huge eagle rays!
Cozumel is an excellent place for relaxing drift dives and challenging caverns and swim throughs, but I strongly recommend you don’t stay at the Wyndham Cozumel Resort just for this dive shop (I reviewed the hotel on its own page). Note that if you don’t stay at the resort, you have no locker or other storage for any gear you may want to leave between dives for this dive operator. - via
