January 2023 was my 4th year touring at Keefer Lake, with my first tour being in February 2019.
Keefer was spectacular enough in 2019 to keep me coming back, but the amount of progress they've made since is truly astounding. With over 100 named runs now established, and a glading program that has taken treed runs from solid (but tight) to spectacular, every single run is now a treat from top to bottom. This past tour we were 6-7+ days out from fresh snow, and we had first tracks every single run. Their organization and management of the tenure is impressive.
In terms of lodge operations, every year I think they cannot do better, and they continue to add little things each season to improve the guest experience. Meals are amazing, and the new wine pairings are a real treat. There is true intentionality in the guest experience, and it is apparent through every one of the 30+ staff that are with you throughout your tour.
Over the years I have been blessed to learn a lot more about the Gostlin family, their story, and their legacy. This place was born out of a 30+ year family dream, and it is really special to see them living it out each season.
Their stewardship of the tenure through solar, hydro, and furnace powered facilities, local sourcing of provisions, micro greens, and overall care for the land is also impressive to learn and see.
Selfishly, I want to keep Keefer a secret, but the world deserves to experience what the Gostlin family has built. If you get the chance to go, you'll never forget it. - via
