Based on my experience, the place itself lived up to its description. However, my stay was overshadowed by management practices that felt focused on cost-cutting at the expense of guests' experience, typical of Western ownership.
One of the disappointments was the food. Despite being in Fiji, the menu predominantly featured non-local dishes like spaghetti Bolognese, lasagna, and pizza. As someone who traveled thousands of kilometers away from Italy, I hoped for authentic local cuisine and fresh seafood, which was noticeably absent considering the island's surrounded by the sea.
While the resort's position for diving at the Astrolabe Reef was remarkable, accessing desired spots required constant requests.
I must commend the local staff; their warmth and friendliness significantly contributed positively to my stay. In my opinion, empowering them to manage the structure might enhance the guest experience.
I availed the backpackers' rate, finding it already overpriced for the offerings. I wouldn't recommend paying the full rate based on what I received during my stay.
In conclusion, the place has some potential given its natural setting, but improvements in food variety, management approach, and pricing structure are crucial for a more satisfying guest experience. - via
