I spent 6 months at Barefoot conservation to do my intership and take the Divemaster course! I made one of the best choices of my life!
I have met so many people and I have taken the best of each one of them!
The staff is amazing, they try every day to do what is possible and fulfill everyone's requests and you always feel at home.
It was an amazing experience!
If you are interested in marine life and conservation Barefoot is the place. They have a beautiful coral noursery and I loved taking care of the corals, from cleaning the noursery to changing damaged ropes, even done with children when possible! Amazing coral and reef projects are on the way.
Activities in the camp take place whenever possible. You can organize with the children to meet them and teach them English. During the DM course the instructor organized a Discover Scuba Diving with the children for me and other DMt!
Fortunately, beach cleanings are occasional! During my time me and other volunteers, walking along the beach you can feel free to collect everything but also one day we organized with the manager and the volunteers a mega cleaning in the sea and on the beach for more than 3h.
The project manager, scientific staff and the instructor try every day to do everything possible to make new experiences possible and learn a lot, from life on the village to everything related to the ocean.
Raja ampat is one of the most beautiful places in the world where I was lucky enough to dive together with other volunteers and together with them enjoyed diving with all aquatic projects Manta ID, Nudibranch ID, Reef Check monitoring and Coral Noursery!
I was lucky to find this place and if I could spend another six months of my life I would.
There may be difficulties and problems in all places in the world, nothing can be perfect, and in Barefoot I also learned that the difference lies in having the will to help, having understanding and patience.
It has been an honor to spend this time of my life in Barefoot which I wish to get bigger and bigger. I will never forget everything I learned in Barefoot, on a small island in the middle of the sea called Arborek.
See you soon, Agnese - via
